Among the Best in the Nation
VNA of Middlesex-East provides home health and hospice services in 36 Greater Boston communities. The agency also owns and operates the 9-bed Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading.
We are proud to be among the top 5% of homecare agencies in the country* and one of only three agencies nationwide to achieve recognition for high performance on patient outcome measures tracked by Medicare. Our re-hospitalization rate is 15%, the lowest in Massachusetts, meaning our good care prevents returns to the hospital and trips to the emergency room.
Our home health services help patients stay safe and independent in their own home when recovering from illness or managing a chronic disease.
Our hospice services help those who have reached a point in a terminal illness where the focus is not on curing the illness but on providing care and comfort. This special kind of care respects a person's need for dignity and comfort during the final stages of life.
*rated by OCS, a healthcare benchmarking service that produces an annual review of the most successful Medicare certified home health providers in the US.

New Low Vision Program Helps Visually Impaired
Visually impaired people can be challenged with activities that others take for granted such as cooking, shopping, writing checks, watching TV or reading. These tasks can be made easier, however, with help from VNA of Middlesex-East's new Low Vision Program.
Best of the Best
Return trips to the hospital by elderly patients is a national problem with almost 28% of Medicare beneficiaries discharged from a hospital rehospitalized within 30 days and 34% rehospitalized after 90 days.
